I made it to 18th grade!

It's always a little overwhelming to think back on the past year; there was so much that happened in life & work/school. They say endings are a good time to reflect on what has past, but beginnings are good for that too.

There was so much I accomplished last year: writing and publishing a paper, my art being chosen for a journal's cover, taking multiple classes, working my internship at the covid testing lab, conducting research, being awarded a Fellowship, attending an in-person conference, navigating first year grad school, raising two kids. And these are just some of the highlights. If you had told me I would accomplish all these things last year, I would have fallen over in disbelief! But allowing myself the time to write down each of my wins made me realize it's ok to dream big for this year: that anything could happen.

And so I'm choosing--and allowing myself--to begin 18th grade with a positive mindset, based in a history of achieving things that I didn't think were possible. Here's a to a great year ahead.

Oh wait, my qualifying exam is in 7 months...
